Elections are over! Introducing our new Leadership
Elections are over, new leadership is in place. Now let’s get back to the business of creating jobs and stabilizing our economy. Thank you to everyone who helped defeat Amendments 60, 61 and Prop 101. It was a great example of how organizations and people from every interest can work together to keep Colorado a good place to do business.
On Thursday, November 4th, members of the Colorado General Assembly convened their party caucuses to elect leadership positions for the next two years.
The House Republicans, having won the majority in Tuesday’s election, chose Colorado’s next Speaker of the House, Frank McNulty, who is from Highlands Ranch. The Senate Democrats, who held on to their majority, elected to retain Senator Brandon Shaffer, of Longmont, as the President of the Senate.
House Democrats chose, Sal Pace, of Pueblo, as the Minority Leader. Other changes in leadership include replacing Senator Suzanne
