17th Annual West Chamber Shoot-Out Golf Tournament

Jefferson County’s PREMIER golf tournament is just around the corner!  The West Chamber's 17th Annual Shoot-Out will be on Monday, August 11th, at the magnificent Lakewood Country Club.  Breakfast and registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun.   After 18 holes, enjoy a lunch buffet, great door prizes, and the awards celebration!  Register early as the tournament routinely sells out! $575 per foursome
Includes continental breakfast, green fees, golf cart, gift bags, range balls, and awards luncheon.

Donate a Prize!

Donate a prize from your company for the drawing during the awards celebration.

Taste of the West
Jefferson County’s Premier Culinary Event

Coming this spring is your chance to experience the best of Jefferson County’s award-winning cuisine! On the evening of Monday, May 12th, the West Chamber Serving Jefferson County will present one of the largest culinary events of the year, the Taste of the West. The “Taste” will feature cuisine from 35+ West Chamber member restaurants & caterers, an assortment of beer and wine, live chef demonstrations, culinary exhibitors, cookbook author signings, and networking with over 1,000 attendees. The site for this year’s event is the Belmar Center 405 S. Teller Street in Lakewood.
 
Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple if paid in advance. Tickets will be $40 at the door. The Taste of the West will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Call the West Chamber today to order your tickets at 303-233-5555, visit the West Chamber on-line at www.westchamber.org, or visit the Belmar Information Center at 408 S. Teller In Lakewood. Your ticket allows you samples of all of the food, non-alcoholic beverages, beer, and wine that you desire!  A cash bar will also be available for full-size beverages.

The West Chamber Honors Members
at Annual Chairman’s Inaugural Celebration

The West Chamber Serving Jefferson County will celebrate its Chairman’s Inauguration on Friday, January 25th at the Sheraton Denver West Hotel, 360 Union Blvd. in Lakewood. Over 250 people from the Jefferson County business community are expected to attend to recognize outstanding Chamber members, and to witness the passing of the gavel to the 2008 Chair of the Board, Leslie Hord of Citywide Bank. The Chamber’s annual event presents awards to their most exceptional members, volunteers, elected officials, non-profits and businesses for advancing their support in 2007.

West Chamber Honors Jefferson County Heroines

The West Chamber Serving Jefferson County will host its sixth annual event to recognize outstanding women in Jefferson County on Friday, November 16th.  Eight everyday heroines will be recognized for their contributions to family, community, and workplace. Honorees will receive a special recognition and a check to donate to their favorite charities. Over the last six years over 50 women have been honored, and over 60 charities have benefited from this event. 

2007 Honorees: Hannah Hayes, Dawn Engle, Carole Haas, Kathy Redmond, Clarene Shelley, Ding-Wen Hsu, Irma Wyhs, Sylvia Brockner

The breakfast celebration will take place at the Denver Marriott West, 1717 Denver West Parkway, beginning with networking and registration at 7:00 a.m. and continuing with the program from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m.  Tickets are $40 per person or $500 for a corporate table of eight.  Display tables are available for $50.  Non-perishable food donations will also be collected for the Jeffco Action Center. Over 250 people are expected to attend the event this year.

Working Together to Build a Healthy Community

The West Chamber Serving Jefferson County will present Lt. Governor Barbara O’Brien of Metro Denver’s Health & Wellness Commission and Ralph Pollack and Amy Fletcher of The Business Health Forum at its Fall Membership Luncheon on Friday, September 7th, 2007.  The event will take place at the Sheraton Denver West Hotel, 360 Union Blvd. in Lakewood. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. with a Wellness Expo and lunch and the keynote speakers will commence at 11:30 a.m..

As health insurance premiums continue to soar, there has never been a more important time for the business community to engage in this discussion!

Lt. Governor Barbara O’Brien will speak on Metro Denver’s Health & Wellness Commission and how it is working with community leaders to understand our region’s health and wellness challenges and to provide real solutions that bolster our health and economic vitality.  Ralph Pollack and Amy Fletcher of The Business Health Forum, will update attendees on Colorado health care reform efforts and engage the audience to get involved in the reform process.

West Chamber Updates Business Leads Groups

The West Chamber Serving Jefferson County is proud to support six beneficial Business Leads Groups.  Because The West Chamber exists for the success of business in Jefferson County, leads groups were developed to help members grow their customer base through a supportive network assisting with word of mouth advertising.

Six different groups meet at various locations, dates and times during the month to network, exchange business leads, promote their businesses and share ideas to improve the business climate.  Weekly meetings also support individuals with sales skills improvement and marketing strategies, and encourage involvement in Chamber activities.

On average, each group consists of 20-25 people and only one member per profession or specialty can be in a group.
