The
Chamber started in 1947 as the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. In
1990 the group merged with the Wheat Ridge Chamber of Commerce
to be the West Chamber Serving Jefferson County. The West Chamber
is a regional chamber that includes the unincorporated South Jefferson
County area.
Chamber Mission
The West Chamber exists for the success of business in Jefferson
County.
Chamber Membership
The Chamber currently has 925 members and is growing. Between
150 and 200 new members join per year, with around 75% retention
rate. West Chamber members come from:
Lakewood
Wheat Ridge
Golden
Arvada
Littleton (South Jefferson County)
Denver
Cities throughout the metro area
Chamber Programs
- The Chamber boasts a successful networking and educational
events (over 30 per year) and seven successful leads groups.

- The Chamber offers numerous promotional opportunities for
business to increase sales and to promote industry including
the Membership Directory in print and on-line, the Wellness
Living publication, the Monday Report e-newsletter, and the
monthly Direct Mail program. <click

- Along with the Jefferson Economic Council, the West Chamber
presents the Jeffco Business Lobby, representing the interests
of business and industry in Jefferson County.
- The West Chamber offers two niche programs to provide support
for those businesses in the “Hospitality and Tourism”
industry, and the “Health & Wellness” industries.

- The workers compensation program is very strong. There 75
members in the program, with a 95% retention rate. The first
year the Chamber gave back $155,548 in dividends to 38 participants.
- The Jefferson County Business Development Center opened in
2006 to help small businesses succeed. Many of our cancelled
members are going out of business because they don’t have
the skills necessary to succeed. This partnership is getting
statewide attention by the Office of Economic Development and
SBA.
