Sherman Leaving The West Chamber

West Chamber President, Amy Sherman, has submitted her resignation from the organization, effective at the end of October.  Amy has been in the role of President/CEO since September 2001.

Chairman Max Bryant of FirstBank released a statement on behalf of the West Chamber Board of Directors.  “It is with regret that the Board of Directors of the West Chamber Serving Jefferson County announces the resignation of its President, Amy Sherman. Amy has been the Chamber’s President for the past 10 years and has served with professionalism, competence and a sincere desire to make a difference in the community.  We wish Amy all the best in her new position. The Board of Directors is putting together a search committee and will begin recruiting for a new West Chamber President immediately.”

Amy shared, “It is bittersweet to announce that I will be leaving the West Chamber.  I have loved every minute of working here and representing the business community in the west metro area.  The West Chamber Board of Directors provides great leadership and the chamber staff is completely dedicated to the success of business.  I want to thank the members of the West Chamber and the elected officials in Jefferson County for working so hard to create a strong local economy.  I will miss all of you.”  Amy will be working on economic development in Douglas County, where she grew up and currently resides with her husband and two kids.
