Do you have peace of mind at work…or does work have a piece of your mind?

  • Have you reached a key transition point and growing to the next level will be extremely difficult?
  • Does your senior staff own the long term vision and strategy of the company?
  • Are you focusing on the right things in the right way? Or, is everything a priority?
  • Do you take a relaxing (2 week) vacation knowing things are being properly executed while you are gone?

If your answers to these questions made you somewhat nauseous, you are not alone. The skills required for the initial growth of your company are not the same skills you need to take it to the next level of growth.  In fact, many small to mid-sized employers struggle with delegation skills and creating a sense of ownership throughout their organization.

Join us for our membership luncheon on September 9th, and learn tools to help you achieve clarity, gain traction and get peace of mind! Sponsored by the Jefferson County Workforce Center with guest speaker Tammy Berberick, President of Focus on Execution.

We Are Filled With Gra-tee-tude!

by Andrea LaRew, Director of Marketing and Programs

I read a quote this morning that said, "If you break 100, watch your golf.  If you break 80 watch your business".  My boss will be pleased to know that based on my golf game, I am truly working as hard as I say I am.  Even though yours truly, hacker extraordinaire, did not bring an 'A' game to the tee box, my teammates and I had a great time in the 20th Annual West Chamber Shootout Golf Tournament.

The West Chamber would like to thank Red Rocks Country Club for hosting us. They have a beautiful course, professional staff, and great food – but tough greens. Not the salad, the pin placement. Especially on #1.  I mean really Kirby, if you want the players to finish in four and a half hours you can't put the pin in a place that requires an act of God to make a putt! In all seriousness, Red Rocks Country Club is first class, all around.  Thank you for a great event!

The West Chamber has the best volunteers! Thank you to Barb Preston, Pam Bales, Leah Varnell, Marta Murray, Kathleen Feighny, Andi Erpelding, Tory Pearson, Shane Walton, Rebecca Snitzer, Kay Ehalt, Deb York, Mel Archer, Dan Flynn, Shari Gordon and Sally Schey. Many of them were at the course before most of you were awake, or braved a hot day in the sun, or both.  None of our events would be possible without our volunteers!

Our annual tournament would not exist without the support of our sponsors. We value your continued support of our Chamber, and can't thank you enough!
